1989 Banshee 370 cc Long Rod Engine Build

Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4

Progress goes quickly when the parts are clean and ready.

Before long it looks like this.

When CCing the trapped volume I put the engine together like this.

The owner opted for the Trinity Racing Stage IV intake manifolds. Their biggest advantage over the stock pieces is they will accept the large 35 mm PWK carburetors without damaging the rubber boots.

I cut the domes so the trapped volume at TDC was 14.2 cc's. That calculates out to a 14:1 compression ratio. The static compression is estimated to be 170 PSI at sea level. The estimated power output is 69 HP at 8500 RPM.
