Metal Stress Is Weakness
The Question - I have a 310 Pro-X kit and ride in the Mountains of Colorado. Out here the extra bottom end torque is the way to go. Mine is an 89 and the cylinder spacer comes with the kit. I have ridden it three seasons and the piston still looks new and clean. Compression is around less that when I installed it, not bad for three seasons.
- The Response - Change that piston - no matter what it LOOKS like. A piece of metal (or anything elastic) can only handle so many stress cycles. Metal fatigue is already happening and it can't be reversed by letting a part sit idle. Change that part OUT!
