The Question - How much of an extension do you think I should get on my Banshee's swingarm? I am thinking of either a 4 or 6 inch extension. I don't want to go too much and loose traction off the line, but I want to keep the wheelies to a minimum. What do you think of the overide tranny. Bruce (c&o) said he would cut my gears for about 200$. I have heard good and bad, what do you think?

The Response - I am no Banshee expert, by far, but from what I have found so far is that 4 inch extended swingarms are the ticket. 6 inches just may be too much and yes, you could have problems getting traction on hole-shot - on dirt, that is. I would go 4 if it were me. I am 4" on mine and I really need to go another 1" because I still have problems keeping the front end down. But, Banshees are totally different. On the override tranny: If you KNOW that you are disciplined enough to make sure that, on the gears that are cut, you do NEVER back off the gas and let the back tires surpass the motor's speed, then I say - go for it. But, if you do happen to let off the gas and that clutch ain't pulled in - well it will fry the shift forks. That's why, usually, 5th and 6th are not cut, so when you are in 5th or 6th, it is OK to drive like normal and let off the gas while in gear and clutch not pulled in - although that's a very "leaning" situation in itself. Happy fork tuning :)

I'd put out the info this way. For a dune rider of a Banshee weighing 180lb with the quad producing 60-70 rear wheel HP go for +4 inches if, you want to still be able to loft the front wheels at will while dune riding and still allow a much more aggressive launch than would be possible with the stock length. Adding another inch to it (+5 over) removes much more "fun riding" front end loft and almost all out of the hole loft. Add an inch more to remove almost all of everything.
