-LT's If You Please-
Rich Sound Moves Ground
The Question - I just bought a used Suzuki 500 thinking the power band for the 2 stroke was the same (as my 250R) just more of it. My new (used) 500 has loads of low-end torque but the high end is almost non-existent. Example: When my 250R starts to pop hang on or you'll be sitting on the ground, but when the 500 starts to pop that's all it does is just pop, there's nothing left??? Is this normal??? Do I need to fix or replace something???
- The Response - The 500 is a real hard grunter, but the top end isn't as good. It should still be better than the 250 R. You may want to check it out. Tell us what all has been done to the bike and maybe we can help
- That sounds about right for an LT500. They kind of feel flat on top, but check the ground speed - you're going real fast.
- I've always had a problem with Suzuki 2 strokes especially the LT series. I can't fully explain it - they always sound rich to me. Not only rich, but they sound rich and blubbery, even when tuned well. That's why it's best to not tune by the ears. I get the help of as many tuning resources as possible (EGT, RPM, RAD etc.) to tell me what I need to know.
