TRX Internal Discoveries

I've collected a few more photo's that might be of interest. Damage can always be found. Ways to prevent it can be discovered or invented.

Here's a block deck that's been cut flat after being gouged up a bit from using a screwdriver type tool to remove the cylinder from the block. The real deep grooves still show themselves though don't present any problem.

A TRX case after receiving case porting. This case has also been cut to accept the sleeve for a 76 mm piston.

This is the 1989 TRX pressure plate - it uses a needle bearing and is considered superior to the earlier part.

This stator has been rewound for 230 watt lighting.

It may be difficult to spot but there's rust in this main bearing.

The long bolts that hold the counter balancer bearing in place (and hold the pulser) are subject to breaking. The longer of the two - the one toward the left is the most likely to break.

If these case bolts become loose and back out they could ruin the flywheel and/or stator. It's a good idea to safety wire them in place to prevent it from happening.

This is what it looks like if that happens. The engine stopped when the loose bolt wedged itself between the pulser trigger and the outer case.

It's difficult to see but the rings are worn very thin in the area of the exhaust port. Notice the width of the ring. It's uncommon to see them worn that much.
