Reeds
It has been my experience that changes in reeds can alter the point where power comes on - move it up or down the rev range a little - they might give the engine a little bit of "fat" here for a little "thin" there, but that's it. I've never seen a real (peak) power gain by changing just reeds. By themselves they simply do not add power, that is, unless you're replacing a damaged set.
